Catch up time!

So I haven't updated in a while! Oops! Honestly, I just haven't felt like it. I will give you some highlights of what we have been doing through some pictures.

We went to the park one day with Pop, Meme, and Nathan. We had a picnic from Chicken Express and then the kids (and Pop) played on the slide. They had a great time. My kids are blessed with great grandparents! They will have such great memories to look back on one day.

Abi and Andrew participated in a piano competition. This was Abi's first time and Andrew's second. They both received a blue ribbon for excellence.

We ran into some strange, but cute, kids while there.

Abi and Andrew were also involved in the annual Awana Grand Prix. They look forward to this event each year, especially now since they compete against each other.
For the first time in 3 years, Andrew did not top in the final 3. He received 4th place, but no trophy. He was a great sport about it.

Abi, on the other hand, placed for the first time! She received 2nd place! She was thrilled!

Andrew went to the monthly den meeting for Cub Scouts and received his Bobcat Patch and 2 other patches!

The kids have played outside a lot, enjoying the great weather. The girls decided the roof of one of buildings was a better place to enjoy it from. I am not sure...

While Chelsea was over one Sunday, she decided we should decorate for Christmas. I told her if they got the stuff down and helped, we surely would. So, they went after it and we decorated our Christmas tree. It was before Thanksgiving but who cares? Our entire family decorated the tree together! We haven't done that in years!

Here is the finished result. (some ornaments have moved because the "mommy" wanted it spaced out more.

The kids beg their dad each year to put lights on the house and he has yet to do it. So to get make himself look good, he decorated Abi's room in lights. Personally, I think it looks like a Mexican bar. But whatever makes her happy. Uncle Christopher was her first customer.

During the Thankgiving break, we went to visit my cousins and my sister! We stayed in a hotel with an indoor pool. My cousin Brandy brought her kids, Ricky & Lilla over to swim that evening. It was great to see them again. I had the opportunity to meet Brandy's new husband also.

Don't ask

We also did some shopping for my sisters new baby which will be a.......BOY! For those keeping count that is- Nephews: 5 Nieces: 0 But it's all good! Boys are so fun! Little girls are fun to dress but little boys...they are full of adventure! I love that! Raegan is due any time!

We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving. My mom and (step)dad brought breakfast over. After they left, we watched, for the first time, the Macy's Day parade. Then we headed to my dad's to enjoy a WONDERFUL lunch. We relaxed for the rest of the day and played games. Just a great day overall.

The next day was the annual Black Friday shopping. I had 2 hours of sleep due to Abi being sick but I drug (is that the right word?) myself out of bed. I was so excited because CHELSEA JOINED ME! Yes, that's right! Chelsea! It was great. We met up with various people throughout the day to shop and then enjoyed lunch with my mom, my (step) dad, my (step) mom, Raegan, Nathan, Stacey, and Adrianna. How blessed am I that my parents will eat together?! My friend Adrianna made my day today when she commented on how much fun it was to finally meet Chelsea and hang out with her! Mommy's love to hear that!

We finished ELO yesterday for the semester and had a very windy picnic outside. Today was the skate day Christmas party. I have no pictures because I was enjoying talking to my friends! I am blessed to have such great friends! One thing to note-Andrew put his skates on today and skated on the outside of the rink! YAY! We have some very busy weeks coming up (not a free weekend in sight until January) but it will all be fun. I am going to enjoy Christmas. I want to savor the family and memories that will be made. But most of all, I want to savor why this holiday exists. All because Our Savior humbled Himself and came to earth as a tiny baby. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
