These Hard Economic Times

It seems we are hearing this term more and more these days. I will be honest and say it has affected us. We are doing ok, better than most. We are blessed by how God provides for our every need and even wants. We are trying not to be dumb and spend money on things not needed as I am sure that most people are doing. Something that has been on my mind a lot is the men. Men are made to work. When they lose their jobs, they feel they have lost a bit of their, for lack of a better word, manhood. They are not providing for their family, they feel like a failure and so many other things. I know Eric struggles with that when work is slow. I have read many stories lately of men killing themselves over the loss of a job and some even killing their families because "why should they all suffer?" I urge you to pray for the men in this country. Pray that when things are bad, they will still turn to God. I pray the men will let their guard down at times with other men and share their frustrations. I pray that we as their wives can be an encouragement to them. That we will not nag them about the things that are out of their control. I pray that we will buckle down on the family budget. That we will be the Proverbs 31 women that God has told us to be.

I will be praying for all of your families because I know that we are not the only one feeling this. I have thought about starting a coupon swap once a week. We could get the kids together for play time and help each other out also. Anyone interested?

*Here's a follow up to the football story below. I always knew I liked that Troy Aikman! ;-) http://www.kdbc.com/Global/story.asp?S=9735765&nav=menu608_4
Oh and no, we are not at ELO. Eric had a stomach virus all night so we are grounded during that time. My sweet friends said we could still join them for lunch. They said that their kids will get sick one way or the other. LOL Jessi?! Interested? How's your baby doing?

Hmmm..first off..do I comment on yours or mine? That always confuses me. ;-) I have some books if you are interested. They are books about germs, recycling, stuff like that. Usborne books have some great things also. We always just read books and they loved that. I actually have a lot of books if you want to come look at it once the sick germs are gone.
