It was a rainy Easter here but it was still great! Chelsea spent the entire weekend with us (!) so she joined in the festive activities. We went to my dad and Carol's on Saturday evening. The kids hunted eggs while my dad and Eric cooked chicken in Eric's new turkey fryer. The kids (and my brother) made out like bandits during the Easter egg hunt! We then sat down to a wonderful dinner of chicken (so good!) and all kinds of veggies. Before we ate, we told the story of Easter through the Resurrection eggs.
On Sunday we woke up and the kids joined us in bed to read the Resurrection story in the Bible. After that, they found their Easter basket and their eggs.
After that, everyone got their "new" Easter clothes on. The girls curled their hair up and Andrew actually fixed his. Aren't they beautiful?!
After a worshipful service and a bountiful brunch at church, we headed to my mom's. We had beef tips, mashed potatoes, other veggies, and some incredible homemade crescent rolls that were unbelievable dipped in the gravy from the beef tips. The kids hunted eggs inside due to the rainy weather. They got some awesome candy! My mom always buys truffle eggs which are simply divine. I have no clue how much candy my children (and Nathan!) consumed that day, but it didn't affect their behavior too much. I have put most of the candy in baggies in the freezer. That way we can just pull it out during the year. Especially when my friends bring their kids over.
A family photo. We all look so uncomfortable. Yes, I will be growing my hair out a bit.
The grandkids minus one. This picture was a booger to take. Jacob, the baby, was very hungry. Why we didn't feed him then take it, I have no clue. But aren't they cute? My sister has the cutest picture of Lewis in an Easter basket. We are going to see them tomorrow (!) so I will have pictures of him up soon.
