but this time closer to home. Actually in our backyard! (**multiple posts, so look below! Back to the story...) Chelsea and I had gone shopping at the Boardwalk in Shreveport on Saturday with a group of ladies from our church. It was great fun! She spent her birthday $$ and we ate lots! But since she was with me all day, her daddy and siblings did not see her. She had requested drunken chicken a while back (we have a new fryer and she thought that's how you cooked it) so he decided to make it Sunday since she was coming over. Well, on Sunday I called and called and couldn't get her. So I just showed up at her house. She and her sisters had just gotten up. She was watching them so couldn't leave. I told her they were more than welcome to come over also. So they joined us too! We had a great lunch prepared by Eric. (He had stayed home with Andrew who had mysteriously thrown up the night before.) We then made Nanny's famous messy cake for dessert. The kids played and played outside. Eric had rented a bobcat for some work this weekend so they were having a blast. Chels came in to ask if they could maybe spend the night and camp outside. I gave the ok as long as her mom did also. She did! So they set up both tents and the fire pit. We roasted hot dogs for dinner and s'mores for dessert. The Hill's joined us for s'mores. They all went to bed around 8:45. I do not think anyone slept well. Eric slept with Andrew since he was the only boy. He said he slept horrible! But it was a great experience! Everyone did great getting up this morning for school. I was very impressed. We took the girls to school and went on with our day. It was a great night! I am so incredibly thankful that it happened! Moments like that are the best memories. I hope they all enjoyed it!
