Eric's birthday...Our cup overflowes!

Yesterday was Eric's 35th birthday. He is always so wonderful to me on my birthday so we wanted to do something special for him on his birthday. We had our family party w/ the cake and presents. And then.....around 60 people showed up to surprise him! Even I was amazed! We are so blessed! How wonderful that all of these great friends wanted to help Eric celebrate his birthday. He didn't say much; he's not the work the party type of guy plus that calls for emotion, BUT he really enjoyed. I think he was overwhelmed by how many awesome friends we have! To all that came, THANK YOU!!!

Some of the guys stayed to play x-box. Andrew was so excited because he got to stay up and be one of the guys. Even though he went to bed at midnight, he was still up at 7! How does he do that? It's 10 and I am still considering crawling back in bed w/ a book.

I want to do some special things today to bring home how important Easter is. This is what He lived and died for!!! This was His purpose; His plan from the day He was born. And it was all for US! How amazing! The empty tomb is my hope and my joy! I would like to decorate eggs and read a story that goes along w/ it. I would also like to make the Resurrection Cookies. And we are going to let Andrew try and watch "The Passion." I haven't seen it, Eric has, so we will put Abi down and let him watch it w/ us. He is young but his spiritual maturity astonishes us. Pray that if he cannot handle it that he will tell us. Pray that it will impact his life in a marvelous way. We are trying to decide about what to do for church tomorrow. We have always gone to the sunrise service but we have talked about doing something at home w/ just us this year. Then go to first service. I don't want to do things just because we have always done them "that way." I want us to do what God leads us to that day. It may be where we can all be home together and truly bring home the point of His Resurrection. Abi has not yet professed salvation so how marvelous would it be if she did this weekend?! But if she doesn't I will be ok w/ that! ;-) All in God's perfect timing!

Have a blessed Easter! May you truly remember what this day is about! It's not about eggs and bunnies, it's about a RISEN SAVIOR!!
