Since I haven't blogged in a while..

I will catch you all up on what has been going on in the Akin house. Where to start, where to start...

We had ELO last Wednesday. I already blogged on that but didn't post pics. So here they are.

Here is Andrew making "lungs"

This is Andrew's class, minus some that were absent. The second/first are split into 2 groups.

Here is Abi w/ her teacher and friend Megan. They made stomach ties.

This is Abi w/ her friend Chandler. (Chandler is so happy they are friends!)

On Thursday I got to see both of my handsome brothers. I had breakfast at Glory Bee w/ my brother Christopher before he went to school. I am going to miss him so much when he leaves for college in the fall!! For lunch my brother Phillip, his wife Raegan and most importantly, my nephew Nathan came over for lunch. They left Saturday for a cruise. We got to keep Nathan for a few hours.

Here is Andrew feeding him. I am amazed at how comfortable the kids are w/ handling him. Andrew will just pick him right up!

This is one of Abi's new past times. Her friend Ariana has been calling and Abi, my I-hate-the-phone-girl is really enjoying it.

On Friday we went to Mrs. Lee's garden

We ran into some of our friends there.

Then to the Brookshire's Wildlife Musuem to look at animals and play on the playground.

Saturday was the beginning of our spring soccer season! Andrew is on his fourth and last season with the Roustabouts and Abi is back playing w/ the Firefly's. Andrew had 2 great kicks on defense that I saw 3 fields over and Abi scored one goal! It was a great beginning season.

Saturday was also Abi's birthday. We had lunch at Cheddar's (it took her hours to decide that) and then came home and watched her new movie "The Nutcracker." (the barbie version)

Sunday was church, a lunch of spaghetti then Abi's family party. It was pretty laid back and she received all the clothes that she will need for the spring! YAY! She has received some neat toys but those are more for her. ;-)

Today we leisurely did school. I realized that I need to work a bit harder on knowing what I am teaching in math! I got several things done for Glory Babies which is always nice. My great friend, Jolene, was a HUGE help in finishing up a project and delivering things to the hospital. She is great!! This afternoon I enjoyed a wonderful tea w/ the kids w/ all of Abi's new tea set and her new table. Today was a bit of a lazy day but enjoyable.

Tomorrow is voting day! The kids, especially Andrew, are very interested in who we are voting for. We have had some interesting discussions about the who, Huckabee, the who nots, the others, and the why's. I dare say he has learned a whole lot in the last couple of days about the economy, the war, and several other issues. I made sure that he knew some of the things we discussed were not be talked about outside of our family because not all parents want their children to know about "baby rights" (abortion) just yet. I plan on taking them with me tomorrow so they can see what it's all about. Well, this has become a novel so I will blog you later!

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE TOMORROW!
