A Trip the the Zoo

We went on a field trip to the Tyler Zoo today. It was a great day to go; the weather was beautiful, it wasn't too crowded and the animals were all out. It was nice to meet some new people in CHEC. I feel bad because there was a woman and her children sitting behind us at lunch and I never introduced myself! How rude! I need to seek her out and apologize. It's so hard to come to something and not know anyone. I remember that feeling when I first began homeschooling. We saw so many people that we knew, my handsome nephews oh, and their parents, our friend Shane and his son, our friend Kim and her son, and our friend Ali w/ her daughter and Ali's mil. We had a good time and it was a good break from the normal, everyday school. I do not feel too bad because it was a bit educational.

Isaac, Abi, Joshua, Andrew, and Luke

The beautiful white tigers

Eating lunch w/ a giraffe behind them!

Comparing our feet to an elephant's foot. All 3 kids put their feet in their!

An elephant picture for Aunt Raegan. The kids were so excited to get this. We actually have 3 because they wanted to make sure we had a good one.

I love looking at all the wonderful animals that God created. BUT I feel a bit guilty because they are enclosed in an environment that is not their own. Is it really fair to do that just because we want to stare at them?! I mean, I like them and all but shouldn't we leave them in their natural environment where God intended them to be. Well, except the ones that are saving from extinction. I like the drive thru zoos. It's not like I am going to quit going because I love all zoos. It's just a thought. I am deep like that. ;-)

Tonight is my brother's "family" birthday party. He will be 18 on Saturday. That is hard to believe. I am so proud of the man he has become! All of my siblings have matured into such fine adults. I love that we are all adults now! I hope to have pics of that!
