Don't you just hate it when you do not know how to start a post?! Let's see...I can't speak for Eric but I think he had a great Father's Day. We both got an answered prayer! Chelsea called and asked to attend church with us! We were very excited. It's so great to have our entire family in church. Andrew and Abi sang a special Father's Day song with the children from children's church. Eric didn't know they were singing so that was a special surprise for him. They did very well and I can't help but beam while they sing. How awesome to hear your children sing praises to the Lord! Each of the kids made their own cards for their dad and then they all made a list of 10 reasons that they are glad their dad is their dad. It was sweet! The one answer they all gave me was "He's fun!"
After church we went to my dad and Carol's. (we went to my mom and step dad's last weekend. ) Funny little thing..we forgot our tank of propane for the fryers so Eric and Chelsea left church right when class was over to get it. I was going to catch a ride with my parents. I couldn't find them afterwards so I was a bit panicked. No one was offering me a ride which was a bit more panicky. I didn't have my phone either. I finally found my brother who informed me he was riding with me. LOL He had his phone so we called Eric who picked us up! When we got there, we ate fried, fried, fried and more fried food. We had fried shrimp, fried catfish, french fries, hushpuppies, and corn. No one even touched the corn! After we ate Eric and the girls rode 4-wheelers. Andrew laid on the couch and watched "Funniest Home Videos" with my dad. I went and rode with Chelsea on the 4-wheelers for a while. Eric, Andrew and Chels shot the guns for a while later that afternoon. The Cornetts joined us for 30 min. so they could try out the gun. That night, we re-heated the food and played Phase 10. All in all, a very good day!
I am so thankful for the two wonderful dads in my life. I have been blessed with Godly dads, dads who raised me to strive for excellence in the Lord and in life. They taught me not to settle for less when it came to a husband. (and I didn't!) They taught me about football and basketball. They let me watch the games with them when I was only commenting on the players bottoms! They both have such different wonderful qualities and have helped me become the woman I am today. No matter how old I am, I will always be my daddy's girl!
I am blessed to watch Eric be a dad. He was a dad when we already met. The way that he loved and parented Chelsea was such a huge attraction to me. A man who can love his little girl like that is special! He has fun with the kids, he teaches them the things a dad should teach his kids, (how to shoot, how to mow the yard, how to play video games) he is raising them in the Word, he takes his daughters on dates, he is training Andrew to be a man, (one that does laundry and cooks!) and he loves me as a Christ commanded. God has truly blessed me!
