then God teaches you a lesson. This morning I was all worked up about posting on the election. I am sure most of you know that the sanctity of life is a very big issue for Eric and I. It always has been, but after losing Hannah and being involved in Glory Babies, it has become a bigger issue. I have seen a picture of a 6 wk. gestational baby and I will tell you that it changed my life. We have all seen sonograms but this baby...it moved me in more ways than I could tell you. And to hear the mom tell the story..I haven't been the same since. All I could think is that people abort babies just like this every day. They abort babies like my Hannah-banana. It's heartbreaking. So, during the elections, this matter is of utmost importance to me. I believe that the Bible clearly states that God has known us since He formed us in the womb. That to me says that life begins at conception.
Oops, lost my train of thought. Anywho, I was all worked up and just almost in tears over the fact that this issue is not important to some Christians. Yes, they are opposed to abortion but to me, you need to stand up and tell the world that. One way is to vote for the person who will uphold the Biblical view that abortion is wrong. This morning the visiting "preacher-teacher" spoke on that people are not the enemy, satan is. He's right. Satan will do anything he can do to cause turmoil between Christians. So instead of writing my 23 page blog (which I had all written out in my head!) I will say this. I love all of my friends. We are all different. We view things differently. But please understand..I will become passionate on this subject. I will stand up for what I believe is right. If that means I must walk away during a discussion, then I will do that. I do that because I want to remain friends.
I will be voting my values on Tuesday. I believe that the Bible upholds the sanctity of life and marriage. That does not mean I do not believe that we should not help the homeless. I will do my part to help any way I can. But I also believe in responsibility. I will not enable those who can work but just do not want to. I believe in places like the Hiway 80 rescue mission. They help men get a job. I would rather support them myself through a donation. To me, health care is a benefit. It is not something we are owed. I wish it was handled differently and honestly, I don't know what the answer to that is. I do know that the reason we have kept our same pediatrician is because she does not do her job for the money. She does it because she truly loves children and wishes to see them all receive health care regardless of her pay. Eric and I do not have insurance and I thank God my kids have it.
Please, please pray before you vote! Check each candidate, check out what they stand for, and pray that God will lead you to vote for the best possible candidate. For those interested, we will be holding a time of prayer in our home tomorrow evening at seven. Our nation is facing a very difficult time right now and we need to do our part by praying and voting. But remember, overall, we serve the Most High King!
*That ended up being longer than I wanted it to be. Sorry!
