Falling Asleep On The Job
When I read with the kids, I always tend to get sleepy. It doesn't matter how interesting the book is. We are reading "Where the Red Fern Grows" right now. I read a chapter and couldn't continue because I was nodding off. Andrew and Abi couldn't wait to hear the next chapter so Andrew volunteered to read. I nodded in and out while he was reading. I could vaguely hear him asking about something and being in "teacher mode" I said, "Good observation." I had no clue what I was talking about. I woke up then and asked him what the word was again. He said he couldn't pronounce it. I asked him to spell it for me. He said, "b-i-t-c-h." Oh My. That's what happens when you fall asleep on the job. Your child ends up trying to pronounce curse words in classical fiction books and you tell them good observation.

THAT WAS LAUGH OUTLOUD FUNNY!!! Love that book:) Who knew that was in there??! Ha ha ha ha!
That was great!!!!
I so understand sleeping while they are reading, etc. However, I must admit, we have not encountered that word; although Taylor did ask me what HIV was last year.
That was hiliarous! I cracked up laughing as soon as I read it. I wanted to comment earlier but I was on my way out the door for clinicals.
HILARIOUS!!!!
I get sleepy reading to my kids, too! What is it about reading that makes us sleepy? I think it's because we actually slow down for a few minutes and realize we're tired! :-)
That's so funny about the word and your response. I'm still giggling. :-)
