Opening their Christmas Eve gift which is always p.j's
Reading the "Legend of Saint Nicholas." We had just read the Christmas story as a family on Sunday at "home church."
After reading we took turns telling the true story of Christmas
Putting out Santa's cookies (aka..Sissy the dog's cookies. She eats them while we aren't looking)
The traditional under the tree picture. Love that there is three!
A picture of Sophie. The kids were made at us that we wouldn't let her in. She smelled and had been eating a squirrel all day. No thank you!
The loot. It looks so small. Eric and I talked about that and we agreed that even though it doesn't look like much, we are happy with them. We do three gifts each year. Plus, they already have everything!
Our Tree. I do miss getting up and doing my devotionals with this in front of me. So pretty.
First look at the gifts that were left out. I'm sorry for the blurryness. They were just so excited!
Chels with her new camo jacket
Abi with a basket full of art supplies
Andrew & a new ripstick
Opening the rest of the goods
A new model
A radio
A GPS for her car
Opening their together gift; a full volume of all of the Narnia books, "The Blind Side," a Jeremy Camp CD & a new card game
Enjoying their new gifts. Poor Chelsea still had a bit of her cold.
After getting dressed we headed to IHOP to meet my family along with Eric's mom. This is a tradition that has been going on for about 30 years. Eric's mom joined us when we got married. The kids went in their pj's and didn't change out of them all day. Chels headed to her mom's around noon and we lazed around and watched movies. We went to my dads that night (the kids still in their pj's) and ate leftovers and played games. It was a great Christmas day!
Happy (late) Birthday Jesus!
