Day Something........

  • I have no idea what day it is and I am grabbing time as I can. ;-) Yesterday afternoon we visited a coffee shop down the road. The plan was to go to the park but it was stinkin' cold! I had a chocolate frap that tasted like a chocolate milkshake. Oh my, yum!! So needed. The Chinese food here is excellent and cheap but a bit of western food was nice. After that we loaded up to see the City Wall. Wow...it was spectacular! It's the best kept City Wall in China. Xin Hong and her friend loved running all around it. She loves outside! We had some moments because she is still trying to momma her friend but our guide explained it well to her. She's doing a bit better with it. When we pulled up to the hotel, the Maglot's were checking in! So exciting!! After everyone was settled in and our laundry was sent off, (praise!) we headed to dinner with them and the dad of the other family joined us also. Y'all, please pray for Tommy and Tracey. Their sweet little one cries constantly to go back to her foster family. She is so confused. This is their first adoption and it's been hard. I know your prayers for them are appreciated. We enjoyed visiting at dinner. We have missed the Maglot's so much! After dinner we went to their very spacious, much cheaper room than ours and visited. I'm not jealous, I'm just saying. ;-) It was good to catch up and made me realize how much our friends in other countries need encouragment. And that's all I will say about that. ;-) Xin Hong had a great time playing with their kids...um, toys, and we came back for bed. Bed time...oh boy. Bath time went great. She took a shower, did wonderful, brushed her teeth, and then we said bed. She had a 30-45 screaming fit and it took Eric and I both to restrain her. We did it lovingly, but firmly. It was all about the battle of the wills. She wanted to be in charge and set the rules. Not happening home girl. And just like every other time, it was like a switch went off and she was ok. She asked for Abi to get in bed with her and she laid down and watched tv. I climbed in my bed and she reached across and grabbled my hand! (Our beds are super close) She held it until she rolled over and was asleep. This was a first!!! We have held hands but always initiated by Eric or I. So happy!!! Today we are off to see the Terra-Cotta warriors! I can't believe I am even typing that!

Prayers...for our friends of course, continued bonding with Xin Hong, and the big name talk today. I'm a tad bit nervous. Please pray for the right words. This is a big deal. Also for our time with the Maglot's to be filled with encouragment and fun! Continue to pray for our kids at home. Chels has big news she will be announcing soon ( so excited for her!) and the boys seem to be doing well. Andrew is a huge talker in text (not) but he seems happy. Peter seems to be his silly self still. We hope to video  chat with all of them tomorrow evening. We miss them all so much but are trying to enjoy the time here because we have no idea when she will be back in her country. Making it special is part of it. For those taking care of our boys, THANK YOU! It means more than you know. Spoil them for us! ;-) We love you all and cannot say thank you enough for the prayers. Off to wake up little miss...she loves to wake up almost as much as my boys do. Ha!
