Today is mine and Eric's official anniversary! We celebrated with our trip to New Orleans but today it is official. At this time right now, 10 yrs. ago I was one hour away from becoming Mrs. Aimee Akin. I was just about dressed and was so excited! Eric and I have been through a lot, more than we could have ever imagined, but I wouldn't change any of it! The 10 years have not been w/out bumps, curves, and some near collisions, but they have all been for a reason. We have had 4 kids, said good bye to one of them,(but not a permanent goodbye) lost a job, opened a business, started homeschooling, bought two homes, bought 3 different cars, survived the baby and toddler years, became soccer (and all the other kinds of) parents, entered the teen years with one of our children, (Lord help us!) started a new church, (one of the best things that has ever happened to us.) fought, hugged, screamed, kissed, and grown but above all we have loved each other! I pray that we have many more happy years. I pray that we will continue to grow in our love, the Lord, and each other! I hope the kids will also realize how important this day is for them also. Today is the day Eric, Chelsea, and I became a family. I became an "Official Mom" even though I was already doing a lot of those duties. (and loving it!) Because we are married, we have Andrew and Abi. I hope they realize that this day is special because we are still together and still in love. Btw, how can I have only gone up one size since I have gotten married but yet look soo different?! I should probably look at exhibit A) Andrew, B) Hannah, and C) Abigail. Exhibit D) Chelsea added a bit too because she and I enjoy eating desserts together!
*disclaimer on a post- on my "freedom" post I hope that no one thought I think those children should not have been removed from the commune. I believe that was the right thing to do. They were being horribly abused and the law did the right thing. My post was directed toward those who use "home schooling" as a cover up for not letting their children in the world. (because of abuse) I have not heard of it happening here, but in other states. I want laws to protect these children. If they are not in school, who will blow the whistle on them? I love the freedom of homeschooling but I do fear there are children out there who are "home schooled" that need our help. I hope that clears some things up!
HAPPY FAMILY ANNIVERSARY TO US!

YES...Happy Anniversary and 10 more years plus of blessings. You two have impacted my life tremendously. If it weren't for you two being together and married, you wouldn't have introduced me & Tabi to Scott and we wouldn't be married for 5 wonderful (busy) years today. This is a GREAT day, and I am so honored I share the same anniversary -5 years. Have a good one!
Yeah 10 years! Magical!
