located on this street
so that we can frequent this street
and these shops
and eat these all the time.
We will visit this park
and this library.
Eric will work for this company
and we will be preparing the girls to go here. (Andrew will have to work with his dad. We cannot afford to send him to school because of our house expenses.)
We will be able to see this view all the time!
Can you tell we love this city?! We had such a great time. Like I said below, New Orleans was, shockingly, a family oriented city. We were there during the French Quarter Festival and we couldn't have picked a better time to go. We mostly just sat around on the grass in the park or by the Mississippi eating wonderful cajun food listening to great live bands. We took taxi's the entire time we were there! It was just like the movies! The cab drivers were all yelling out the windows, running red lights. It was great! I can now hail a cab. Pretty cool! I am probably the only person that buckles up in a taxi! We took a horse and carriage ride around the city, went on a swamp tour, ate some more great food, looked at the big old houses in the Garden District and just relaxed. Our b&b was about 9 blocks from the French Quarter and we have never stayed at a more relaxing place. Our innkeeper was a wealth of information about New Orleans since he had grown up there. He was also a fabulous cook! We had a gourmet breakfast each morning. Here are a few pictures of our room.
If you ever have the chance to visit this beautiful city, take that opportunity. You just need to know what to avoid and leave the French Quarter at appropriate times. We did not see anything more inappropriate than we would see here in Longview. Yes, there are poor sections, yes there are a lot of homeless people, but you know what? It wasn't bad at all. We were hit up for money a few times but we just said no. (ask me about the shoe shiners and the horrible man who asked me if I was afraid of black men. EXCUSE ME?! Do you KNOW what color my adopted children are?!) But that can happen anywhere. I have seen it in Dallas. New Orleans is a city that is full of history. It is an experience that everyone should have once! Just a few more pics!

I love the city too. Ted and I went when Jo was just a baby and have wanted to go back since Katrina. I love the historic feel - it feels European. :) Your house is going to be so big I think we'll just come and stay at your house! :)
The other city I really love is Las Vegas. I know, sin city number two. But the buildings are incredible. It's all about the architecture for me.
