How I met my hubby

I have been inspired by my blog stalking. Yes, it has served a purpose! I came across the Park Wife's blog and just love it. She is sharing, and can I add very slowly sharing, the story of how she met her husband, Big Buckaroo. I decided it would be worth writing down mine and Eric's story now that I can turn my blog into a book! (check blog below!)

I am so stealing Park Wife's idea but I am sure it will not contain half of her wit. (so just deal with it and skip it if it bores you! *grin*) I will give you a bit of background of me first so you can understand *me* a bit more.

My Growing Up Years..

I was born into this beautiful world to my wonderful parents in December on the 27th day of the year 1976. (note my b-day on your calendar) My parents were young, very young, and very newly married. They decided to part ways when I was about a year old. I lived with my mom and saw my dad when he could come in to see me. (He worked construction out of town a lot) I was very close to my Mema and Papa. (My dad's mom and stepdad) I have so many great memories of staying at their house and just being with them. (wow, tears still when I think about them.) I mention them because it helps you understand my family dynamics a bit better. My parents were divorced but my entire family did a great job of getting along and making sure that I never suffered any of the consequences for it. When I was about 2 or 3 (mom, help with that age!!) my mom and I were at the laundry mat. I was running around playing when this strange man approached me asking me about my mom. On July 25th of 1981 this wonderful, strange man became my "other daddy!" In May of the next year, I became a big sister. Not too long after that, my dad decided to take me to a bank to meet "someone." This "someone" became my "other mom" 2 yrs. later! I have been very blessed with 2 great sets of parents. Divorce stinks but God worked that situation for the good. 4 years later we welcomed this HUGE little brother into our family. 4 years after that I finally welcomed a sibling, a brother, on my dad's side. My "family" was complete!

I had a fairly normal childhood. We ran around outside, all those normal childhood things from back in the day. Remember when moms used to "lock" us outside and tell us to drink from the water hose? (don't deny it mom! It's 3 against 1!) I saw my dad and stepmom every other weekend. It was a fairly typical child. I accepted the Lord as my Savior at the age of 12! I went through the perm stage, (what was I thinking?!) yelled at NKOTB concerts, started wearing make-up, decided to marry Troy Aikman, made some great friends, fought with those great friends, straightned my hair, got a figure, then da da dum....started dating! Why oh why did I date the guys I dated? I never dated them long. When you decide to remain a virgin until your wedding night, a lot of guys decide you are not worth even dealing with. Oh well! I had lots of fun with all of my friends. My high school years were fun, stressful, exciting, and learning years. When I graduated, my friend Stacey and I decided to go on a Sr. trip to Florida.

Little did we know how that week would impact both of our lives......
