Our crazy weekend

It seemed we were constantly on the run this weekend! But good news...soccer is over! We have enjoyed the last four seasons but are looking forward to a break. The kids had great coaches and great teammates. Their coaches worked really hard w/ them and taught them a lot. They met some great friends and we met some great parents. Andrew, imo, is not passionate enough to continue right now. He may want to come back after a season off and he may not. He has improved so much this year! He has gotten more aggressive which is good in soccer. :-) Abi is good and has a great time while playing but she could take it or leave it. Her passion is ballet so we are going to stick with that. It will be nice to have our weekends free. With Eric's work being mainly during the summer we have to vacation in off season. (which is fine with us. It's cheaper and less crowded.) We haven't been able to do as much because of soccer. Maybe now we can go camping! We now face the decision of what extracurricular activity to add for Andrew. We have thought of tae-kwon-do but I am not sure. I like the kids to be in some activities that do not have just home schoolers. They need to be able to live their faith and it's easy when you are constantly surrounded by Christians. Boy scouts is an option but we shall see. On to our weekend.....

Friday was interesting. Abi had her much anticipated field trip to Safety City. But as it does every Friday, it rained! Not only did it rain, but we had tornado warnings! We left Safety City and came home just as the sirens started going off. We ran to the tornado shelter and waited it out. Laura and Isaac joined us along with my brother Phillip, Raegan, Nathan, and Raegan's dad. They were in the middle of a garage sale when it started. Eric had picked Chelsea up at school during this time and was not going to leave her at home by herself so she joined us too. Andrew and Abi were so excited to see her! They looked like little puppies in their excitement! They were so scared until she got here. Her arrival eliminated all fears for them! Here are some pictures from our fun in the storm shelter.(we did learn that our shelter needs to be better equipped!)

Chelsea & Andrew

Isaac-he enjoyed the shelter so much he didn't want to leave!

Nathan & his grandpa

Chelsea stayed for about 20 min. after everyone left. We all enjoyed her visit so much!

We had pancakes and bacon for dinner that night while we watched "Star Wars" episodes one and two. I have never seen any of the Star Wars and I enjoyed them. Some of Andrew's friends from the neighborhood joined us also.

Saturday was mostly soccer consumed. Abi had a 10:00 game. She did great! After that we went and had lunch with Nini and Papa at Chick Fil A. Andrew's game was at 12:30. He played a great game. He got all aggressive in one guys face. Proud moment!! After that he had a soccer party. We had mole for the first time. WOW!! I am hooked!
Here they are playing at the party

Eric and I attended a wedding that night for Kaila, one of our favorite girls from when we taught Sunday school. She looked beautiful! It was a very short ceremony and then they had a little reception outside. I am very thankful I bought a new dress because I was surrounded by cute little 20 yr. olds. The kids stayed w/ my nanny and watched "Alvin and the Chipmunks" I think that was more fun than a wedding.

Sunday we went to church, had lunch at the Roadhouse, Eric played paintball, and the kids and I rested. I love Sundays!

If you made it through this horribly long post, WOW! Congratulations! Because that was l-o-n-g. Thursday is Six Flags! YAY!
