The breakdown of our last couple of weeks

I haven't posted our happenings in a long time so I will give some short summaries. They will not be in order, but hey! I am finally posting. I have some pics but not many because of my broken camera. I am not posting any because I am too lazy. Maybe later. (yeah right)

-A couple of weeks back I enjoyed a ladies night with my friends Kara C., Stacey C., Angela W., and Allison W. in Shreveport! We spent the night (thanks to Brad W. for getting us a FREE suite at an awesome Holiday Inn!) We ate at one of the casino's there, went to the Boardwalk for some Stone Cold Creamery, then to another casino to do more sinning. Shh! Don't tell! The most that was won was about $15. Boy, we are big spenders! We enjoyed shopping the next day at the Boardwalk. Thanks to our great hubby's who watched kiddos!

-Andrew and Abi have finished swimming lessons. We only went to 5 which seems crazy, but we were out of town for one and it rained out two. They loved it though and really listened to their instructor. They both liked him a lot. He was great with the kids. Strict, but fun.

-We enjoyed a great time at Six Flags last week! Our neighbors, Debbie, Tasha and Dee went with us as well as the Hill's and the Deboer's. It was great. I was getting a bit worried when we hit a storm on the way there. We could only go about 35 mi. an hour on interstate. Thank the Lord it cleared up! The rain brought temps in the 80's which was great. We arrived at the hotel with 10 min. to spare to catch the trolley to Six Flags. So we thought. An hour and a half later we made it to Six Flags. I was a bit peturbed about this. It was 5:00 by this time. But it ended up being wonderful! We did all the rides we wanted, most of them twice. There were no lines at all. We even enjoyed their big show that night. The next day we treated Debbie and her kids to Cracker Barrel. They had never been! That is just a crime! We all had a great time. I enjoyed the time in the car to chat w/ Debbie. Please remember to pray for her home situation. We don't want to lose our great neighbors!

-Andrew and Abi just finished First Christian Camp. Andrew looks forward to this camp every year. He calls it a "real boy camp." They do so many great things, canoeing, slingshot, fishing. Just a lot of fun. They learn some fun songs. (some that I wondered about but hmm...) The only thing that bothers me is there is no dress code. When they go swimming the jr. counselors wear string bikini's. This is not the idea I want my kids to have of their counselors. It's a church camp! It won't kill you for one week to wear a tankini and a bit longer shorts. Sorry, modesty is my soapbox! But right now, it's not an (big)issue and they always have fun! For the second year in a row the Thurs. night camp out was canceled due to rain. We are going to start praying now for it to happen next year. Just like we pray for no sickness for Christmas in June.

-About 3 wks. ago we had VBS. The kids had a ball! They looked forward to it each day. It was a science theme which we all know Andrew loved! They talked about it each day when we got home and couldn't wait to go back. I even looked forward to it each day! That is saying a lot when you lead. I had a great group of kids! I love sitting around and getting to know them.

-Last Friday we had a combined party for our friends. The Durham's will be moving to OKC so Mark can be in the Air Force and Brad W. received his Masters. The plan was to have it at the church but rain was threatening. So we moved it to our house! We had about 45-50 people here. It was great fun. Because I only had 20 min. to get ready I was not panicked about my house. We did what we could and that's it. It was relaxing to just sit around and talk. We had the best cakes from Glory Bee Bakery. Every single person commented on how wonderful they were. I highly recomend them for any party!

-Andrew attended the David Wesley basketball camp last week for 2 days. It was hard work and we are very proud of him for sticking it out. I think he even had fun! I was there when they had a Q and A with David Wesley and I was very impressed. He stressed education so much with the kids and was very honest with them that their chances are not good to make the pros. Andrew received a gold medal Presidential Fitness award! He was so excited! He showed it off to everyone!

-I painted the kids bathroom and hallway this past week. Hard work! I am not a good painter so that is more stressful. We have, well we are supposed to have, a painter give us an estimate on the other rooms. I want to stay married so it would be best to have the other rooms done by someone else. I am praying Tasha, my wonderful neighbor, and maybe Chelsea can knock out the dining room and kitchen this week. They do not have to be primed so it won't be that horrible. (I think!)

-Chelsea is raising money to go to youth camp. Praise the Lord she is going to youth camp! We have been seeing more and more of her lately which is great. The kids are so excited and thank the Lord every night!

The kids leave for my sister's Monday. They are excited but I will miss them! I will go down Thurs. and bring them back Friday. Just in time for the big 4th of July bash at the Hill's! Pray for the kids safety. I worry so pray I don't worry! Also, Sophie the dog is sick again. She ate dead worms we think. Silly thing!

I hope you all have a great week! God Bless!
