That's It!

I have had it with school! But here is the thing-I know we are supposed to home school. God is still calling us to this. I told the kids on Monday that if they do not shape up, I have no choice but to enroll them in school. It's not a threat, it's just what I have to do. They have to learn; it's the law. If I can't teach them, someone is going to have to. But when I sit down and pray about it, (or scream out in total frusteration to God) I still know we are supposed to be home schooling. So..what do we do? We are going to turn our "school room" into our official school room today. The kids are going to help me. I am going to use the bookshelves to section off the room. We are bringing the desk in. We will not leave that room until our work is done. I am at my wits end. My kids fight constantly. For those who agree with that statement, and do not home school, picture your kids fighting and triple it. (that does not mean you do not understand. And I am not asking for pity. I am just trying to give you a visual. I think it's just as hard if they go to school during the day and then fight when they get home. Because you feel the same way that I do; you can't enjoy them and the time you have together) That is how it has been lately. I cannot even enjoy being their mom. School consumes our day because they spend so much time fighting. By the time we are done, I just want to be left alone. But sitting them in front of a tv so I can veg is not the answer. (But I wish it could be!) We have also had a ton of disrespect lately from both of them. They, for some reason, think of us as equals. Um..no...you are not completly grown up yet. I know they are getting older and I do treat them according to their age. But to think you can "help" me parent or tell me what you can/cannot do, that does not work. So pray for us!! Your verses have helped!!

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6 ESV

God will equip you for what He has called you to do!

Gal.6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Don't Give UP!!! I want to give up too--lots of times. And I did when my older kids were young. But I've learned that God is faithful. He is Faithful. Did I mention that God is Faithful? Yeah, even when I don't know what to do, he is faithful to show me, to lead my kids, to take what I offer and do amazing things with it. I'm weak but HE is strong. I'm preaching to myself, Aimee! Praying for you!

I meant that I wanted to give up when my older kids were young--I didn't give up, and I'm so glad. Just wanted to clarify....
